Yes, a Costa Rican fishing license is required for anyone fishing aboard our charters. Licenses are not included in your charter price and are the responsibility of each angler. You can purchase yours online in advance here, or we can help guide you through the process before your trip.
We recommend sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable clothing and swimsuits, and a light jacket for cooler mornings. We provide fishing gear, bait, tackle, refreshments and snacks on every charter (light lunch included on 3/4 and full-day trips).
Yes! Refreshments and snacks are provided on all charters. Half-day charters do not include lunch, while 3/4 day and full-day charters include a light lunch.
There’s no strict minimum age, and we welcome families! That said, we recommend children be at least 6 years old for offshore or full-day charters, as longer trips and ocean conditions can be challenging for very young kids. For shorter inshore trips or sunset cruises, younger children are often a great fit. Let us know your group’s ages when booking and we’ll help recommend the best charter for you.
Your safety is our top priority. If conditions are unsafe, your captain may reschedule or cancel the trip, and we’ll work with you to find another available date or discuss refund options.
In most cases, yes — you’re welcome to keep eating-quality fish like dorado, snapper, tuna and wahoo. However, billfish such as sailfish and marlin are protected by Costa Rican law and must always be released alive, kept in the water during release. This isn’t just our policy — it’s a national conservation regulation we proudly follow. Costa Rica is a global leader in billfish conservation, and we’re committed to doing our part so these incredible fish remain here for generations of anglers to come.
